Welcome to my website.
I am a photographer based in Canberra, Australia. Fascinated by photography since I was 10, I have never lost the excitement of exploring the world with a camera. Having spent much of my childhood overseas, I used to equate photography with exotic destinations; now, though, it’s more about seeing how light can transform even the most mundane subject into something new and intriguing.
I enjoy digital cameras for their immediacy, film for its sharpness and rich tones, plastic or phone cameras for the flaws which can produce happy accidents. A long-term colour addict, I am beginning to explore the subtleties of black and white as well as the fun of slow photography – both medium format film and alternative processes. I still dream of travel, but I also enjoy the challenge of finding inspiration close to home.
I write an occasional column called Different Strokes for the Canberra Photographic Society’s online newsletter, Capital Image.
